How POPIA applies to Orion Moon’s work
Accounting, payroll, tax and HR services require personal and financial information about clients, employees and directors. Orion Moon processes these records for defined service, contractual, statutory and operational purposes and applies controls appropriate to their sensitivity.
Information and safeguards
Identity, contact, banking, payroll, employment, transaction and SARS information is collected only for an identified purpose.
System access is limited by role, and sensitive requests or banking changes require verification.
Information is shared only with authorised personnel, service providers, regulators or recipients permitted by the client or law.
Records are retained for legal, contractual and professional periods and then securely destroyed or de-identified.
Suspected loss, unauthorised access or disclosure is assessed, contained and escalated through the incident process.
Access, correction and objection
A person may request access, correction or deletion where legally appropriate, object to certain processing, or raise a complaint. Orion Moon may verify identity and authority, and may retain records where another law or professional obligation requires it.
Responsible party and operator roles
- Orion Moon is responsible for its own client and business administration.
- For some payroll, accounting or HR work, Orion Moon may process information on a client’s documented instructions.
- The parties’ actual roles, service scope and legal responsibilities determine the required controls.
